How FME Form Works

FME Form (formerly FME Desktop) is the desktop application where you build data workflows, called workspaces, on a visual canvas. Every workspace follows three steps:

  • Read: connect to your source data using readers for files, databases, web services and applications
  • Transform: clean, validate, restructure and enrich the data using hundreds of pre-built transformers
  • Write: send the results to the formats and systems that need them

Once a workspace is built and tested in FME Form, it can be run on demand or published to FME Flow for automation.
